Y.P.F.C.
is an abbreviation for Young People For
Christ, and is a movement of the Holy Spirit
in the heart and lives of our young
people. You have been branded as
generation X by a number of adults. Many
people think that your generation is hopeless
and doomed
to destruction. But you my dear young people
are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood. You are consecrated and set
apart for God's own purpose - for the
enrichment of your own life and of those you
come into contact with.
As
we read through the bible, we see that Jesus
had a special love, a special place in his
heart for young people. The gospel of
Mark, chapter 10: 17-22, recounts an encounter
between Jesus and a rich young man, and in it,
Mark writes, 'Jesus looked steadily at him and
loved him,' (verse 21). There was
another time when children came to see Jesus
and his disciples were chasing them away
because they felt that they were being a
bother to the Master. But Jesus told them not
to prevent the little children from coming to
him because it is to these that the Kingdom of
Heaven belongs.
Past
and present popes have also shown a tremendous
love for you dear young people, and have
written a number of articles in support of
youth, many of which were shared at the
various World
Youth Days throughout the years.
As
a member of Y.P.F.C., you will learn more
about the Catholic faith and you will be able
to ask questions about your faith and discuss
many of the issues that you face. You can
communicate with other youths online and share
your ideas. We will keep you informed on
various events organsed for you by the Youth
Secretariat. It will be an awesome
experience. So please stay tuned for
further developments in this. If you
have any ideas on this project, please feel
free to contact the webmaster
or the Evangelization
Commission. We would really love to
hear from you.
May
God richly bless you.
